Week 37: Panel

Mr. Punch likes a carved panel on his box. Yes, only a hand carved panel will do, or he will get you. Mr. Punch does not take kindly to being thwarted in his desires.

Materials I used:

Staedtler 2H pencil
Faber-Castell Polychromos coloured pencils
Van Gogh watercolours

Judy you have surpassed yourself. this is just gorgeous. !!!

    • Thanks Rose. I thought I’d never finish the finer detailing; I started in coloured pencil and had to finish it in coloured pencil and it took about 4 hours! Thank goodness for golf on TV, I can sit there and draw while the spouse watches the sports action.

You are so talented when it comes to drawing architectural styles! I am amazed at your patience. And I never would have dreamed of something like this for “panel” – well done on the sketch and for your amazing imagination.

    • Thanks Bev! Not sure where the idea came from, I guess when I thought of making it a panel on a box I thought of a jack-in-the-box, but wanting an antique flavour I thought of Punch and Judy and it rolled on from there.
